Pa. Man involved in fatal Pittsburgh shooting faces new charges: reports

An 18-year-old identified as a suspect in a fatal shooting in downtown Pittsburgh faces new weapons charges related to a SWAT situation in December.

Erique Collington remains in the Allegheny County Jail after being charged with shooting and killing 23-year-old Eugene Nance on Thursday, according to CBS21.

According to a recent criminal complaint, police said Collington was one of 16 people removed from an Airbnb along Brighton Road on December 19.

Collington did not have a weapon on him after he was searched, but interior surveillance footage and posts from Collington’s Facebook account showed him with a short-barreled shotgun, police said.

This rifle was later found in a dresser in a bedroom at the Airbnb. According to KDKACollington was seen holding the gun multiple times and carrying it into the room where officers found it.

As a minor, Collington was not allowed to carry a gun and was once caught with one in 2021.

Those charges are in addition to several others he faces in the downtown shooting, including criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy and tampering with physical evidence.
