Police Department holds art contest for Birmingham kids – The Oakland Press
Children in Kindergarten to Year 5 attending school in Birmingham or the Birmingham Public Schools District are invited to enter a winter holiday art competition to help decorate police department offices from the city.
Three winners will be chosen, with the top prize being a ride to school in a patrol car with the department’s Therapy K9 Bella.
As noted on the department’s Facebook page, “fun and festive artwork” is sought – with the theme of the season of winter or holidays celebrated during winter. The registration deadline is 4 p.m. on December 11.
Other details for entries:
• Must be on 8 ½ by 11 inch paper
• Can be a colored pattern or a freehand drawing
• Include on the back of the entry the student’s first and last name, school and grade level, and the phone number of a parent or guardian who can be contacted
• Entries can be shared on social networks
Submit entries to the Birmingham Police Department, located on the first floor of City Hall at 141 Martin St.
