Police identify duo in photo linked to Fort Erie double murder

Niagara Police say they have identified two people pictured inside a Fort Erie Airbnb where two women were murdered earlier this year.

Julianna Pannunzio, 20, of Windsor, and Christine Crooks, 18, of Toronto, were gunned down during a birthday party in a short-term rental on January 19.

Police responded to reports of gunfire shortly after 4 a.m. When officers arrived, they found the bodies of the women showing “clear signs of trauma.” Pannunzio and Crooks both died at the scene from gunshot wounds.

Investigators determined that a group of individuals from outside the Niagara region had been illegally rounded up at the house.

Police released a photograph inside the house the night of the murders last month.

Police said on Wednesday the two unmasked people in the photo had been identified.

However, police said no other information regarding their identity was released “to preserve the integrity of the investigation.”

Police said the $ 100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the killings is still in effect.

Anyone with information that can assist with the investigation is asked to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service Homicide Unit Information Line at 289-248-1058.
