RealPage partners with Airbnb to launch Migo home sharing service

United States: Software and data analytics provider RealPage partners exclusively with Airbnb to launch its Migo apartment colocation solution, which will make it easier for residents and apartment owners to share their space on Airbnb and benefit from home sharing.

Residents will be able to recover part of their monthly rent based on how often they share their accommodation exclusively on Airbnb. Homeowners can differentiate their apartment offering and share the financial benefits of shared accommodation with their residents.

RealPage CEO Steve Winn said, “RealPage is very excited to partner with Airbnb on this revolutionary software and service. The business of owning and managing apartment communities is changing rapidly, as residents now expect the freedom to live, work and travel on their own schedules and to share their space when they are away.

“The industry has long sought a cohabitation model that allows homeowners and residents to participate and reap financial benefits without impacting existing residents or burdening management with additional work. Our exclusive partnership with Airbnb will make it easier for everyone to benefit from home sharing, ”he added.

RealPage developed Migo technology to provide a range of services – from access control and filtering to noise monitors and cleaning – that historically have been tedious.

Residents will be able to use the Migo app to link their Airbnb listing to their community, grant guests remote access, schedule room cleaning, communicate with Migo support, monitor their home sharing performance, and more. Apartment owners can use the Migo app to better understand colocation activity, optimize underutilized apartments, and better serve their residents.

Owners and residents can use these services with confidence, knowing that they are backed by two industry leaders with decades of experience in real estate, travel and technology.

Migo is designed to offer both self-service and full-service home sharing options.

With self-service, residents and owners can list their apartments or guest suites on Airbnb and manage all aspects of their Airbnb listing on their own. With full service, the Migo hospitality team fully handles all aspects of the Airbnb listing for an additional fee.

Residents can share their accommodation for the number of days authorized by the apartment manager and in accordance with local regulations. Managers can designate units eligible for home sharing, and RealPage’s new AI revenue management system will adjust base rents based on demand for the service.

Jesse Stein, Airbnb Head of Real Estate, said: “Airbnb has a long history of supporting and enabling building owners and their residents to benefit from home sharing and we are delighted to be able to continue this work with RealPage, the leading provider of property management software with over two decades of experience launching Migo.

Migo is compatible with RealPage, Entrata, Yardi, and MRI and will be available industry-wide in Q3 2021.

In December, RealPage entered into a definitive acquisition agreement with private equity firm Thoma Bravo. The cash transaction valued RealPage, the parent company of vacation rental software provider Kigo, at around $ 10.2 billion, including net debt.
