Construction has started on 1313 Mockingbird Lane. Rob zombie revealed a new photo of the set of The Munsters today via Instagram, giving fans a taste of what will soon become his version of the Munster family home. While the photos offer no glimpse of what the set will actually look like, the director has certainly stepped up the hype for his reimagining of the classic – but unusual – TV family.

The photo, a landscape shot of a cobblestone road and the wooden skeleton (no pun intended) of a house, was posted and, captioned, “Mockingbird Lane now has a cobblestone street!” Things move and groove. The photo is also spoiler-free that Zombie can handle, being mostly dirt and construction material, the most exciting being the sidewalk laid out in front of what will soon become Munster’s home.

This isn’t the first update Zombie has released about The Munsters‘production – the director posted numerous photos on Instagram during the production of the film in Budapest. Although the house is yet to be built, fans can check out plans for 1313 Mockingbird Lane which he released last month, which he calls “the most perfect Munsters house since 1964”.

Zombie first announced his Munsters film in June, reimagining the lives of the friendly monsters of Mockingbird Heights. Originally airing from 1964 to 1966 on CBS, the sitcom gained popularity when it went into syndication long after its initial airing, itself gaining a series of sequels that ran from 1988 to 1991. The Zombie project is second to reimagine delusional family life, after NBC doomed Mockingbirds Way.

The Munsters is slated to receive a theatrical release while also airing on Peacock, although no release date has been announced. Check out Zombie’s post below.
