Snow in Edinburgh: Weather warnings issued for Wednesday and Thursday with further snowfall forecasts

Edinburgh is expected to see further snowfall on Wednesday and Thursday, with Met Office weather warnings in place from 6 p.m. tonight.

Forecasters believe we could see prolonged winter showers with the yellow alert for snow and ice until 2 p.m. Thursday. Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife are expected to be affected, along with large parts of eastern and northern Scotland.

According to warnings from the A1, and North Berwick and Dunbar, can miss out on the worst times – but the rest of us in the Lothians won’t be so lucky or unlucky depending on how much you enjoy the snow.

The Met Office said “ice is likely to form in parts of Scotland, north Wales and north England, causing travel disruptions as well as snow for parts “.

They add that people should expect patches of ice on untreated roads, sidewalks and cycle paths, as roads and railways are likely to be affected by longer travel times.

The latest warning comes after the city was hit by snow showers overnight Monday through Tuesday, with harsh conditions remaining in place across much of the capital.

Following the snowfall earlier this week at Edinburgh Live, we asked our readers to share their winter snaps, and they delivered. Check out some of our favorite snow photos here.
