Take a peek inside the off-grid Airbnb owned by MN’s Best New Hosts

Airbnb just named their best new hosts of 2021. They picked a new host from each state to present, and the Minnesota hosts have a very unique location overlooking Lake Superior.

There was three requirements that Airbnb had to decide who was selected as their top new hosts: They must have started hosting in 2021, the hosts had the most registrations in the state, and they had already achieved Superhost status.

The best new hosts from Minnesota are Stevie and Juani. They own this Airbnb it is in the Grand Marais. They built this place, along with a contractor, in 2020 and just started welcoming guests this year. The place, called Patagonia hut, was inspired by when Stevie and Juani lived in Patagonia, Argentina. They even have Patagonian decor in the cabin and also decor by local artists from the Grand Marais.

This Airbnb is very unique because it is off-grid. Electricity is provided by solar panels, the fireplace and stove are gas powered and there is no running water. Yeah. They always have a way for you to take a shower, but it’s like I’ve never experienced before.
