The best campsites to book this summer

14 guests/$85 per night ($25 fee per additional person after the first 4 guests, hosts may agree to accommodate more than 14 campers)

With a killer location along the Klamanth River, surrounded by mountains, there’s no better place to stay with a group (or partner) than at this amazing campsite set on 27 acres of wild and beautiful land. Despite the fairly remote location, guests are not left rough here, as the site comes with a number of amenities. Cook meals in the kitchen structure, which has running water (hot and cold!) and a two-burner propane stove, use the grill and dispose of food in the compost bin provided. Relax around the fire pit (which is filled with firewood), tables and benches. You won’t get cell service here, but there are even lights and an electrical outlet. Toilets are also on site. As for activities, well, you have private access to the river for swimming, fishing, kayaking, etc. And it’s a great place for nature viewing, with deer, otters, osprey, blue herons, foxes, and black bears, among other creatures.

What guests are saying: “We spent six nights at Animal Land and it was magical! It truly is a special place away from it all, and our camp host Ken was just wonderful. Every day we walked from our tent/camp area to ‘to the river (3 -5 min walk) and swim, kayak or paddleboard, fish and generally hang out in the river! Lots of animal sightings including a bald eagle and young (wow!) and much to the delight of our 7 year olds a friendly fox who would love to visit in the evening. We came home relaxed and feeling like we were truly out in the wilderness, but without having to do too much ! I highly recommend !!”
