The Empress Netflix: the sumptuous palace of the series arrives on Airbnb

Located in Pommersfelden, Bavaria, in southern Germany, the palace enjoys considerable airtime in the series as it is used as the residence of the main character, Empress Elizabeth. Although her life was somewhat of a mystery in the 19th century, she was and still is a very popular historical figure in her birthplace, according to The New York Times. The House of Schönborn is delighted to give the public the opportunity to discover how the Empress lived.

“Empress Elizabeth, affectionately known as Sisi, is an all-time favorite historical figure: sportswoman, fashion icon, traveler, poet and tragic heroine who fell to the blade of an assassin,” said Countess Benedicta von Schönborn-Wiesentheid, host of the experiment. . “As she was born in Bavaria, it’s both exciting and fitting to bring this legendary woman home and share a little insight into her world.”

The suite up for grabs is located in the west wing of the palace and is usually reserved exclusively for the Schönborn family. Guests will receive an exclusive tour of the castle and will be taken with pleasure to places usually closed to the public. There will even be a “Sisi-inspired dinner and breakfast” in the ornate Shell Room, according to the listing.

Filmed entirely in German, The Empress is a six-part series currently streaming on Netflix.
