The University of Minnesota reinstates its mask mandate. Do ND schools too?

The University of Minnesota has announced the reinstatement of a mask mandate for all university campuses.

According to Star Tribune, the University of Minnesota announced today (August 2) that beginning August 3, students and staff at all campuses at the university will be required to wear masks. If you remember what happened when the pandemic started, North Dakota seemed to be following the signals of the Minnesota coronavirus very closely. So, will North Dakota universities soon reinstate campus-wide mask mandates?

Will North Dakota Colleges Restore Mask Mandates Soon?

If you think, “This can’t happen! It is now the law that prohibits the obligation to wear masks in North Dakota ”, you are wrong. In April, Governor Burgum vetoed a bill that prohibited state officials from reinstating mask warrants. The veto has been overturned. So while the North Dakota government cannot impose this kind of mandate on people, that does not prevent schools from reinstating mask mandates.

BismarckTribune reports that cases in North Dakota are on the rise due to “the rapidly spreading delta variant and continued apathy of the vaccine.” With increasing cases and more states reinstating mask warrants, it seems inevitable that mask warrants will return to North Dakota. Whether government officials have the power to adopt them or not. I think we can handle the masks, but the country doesn’t need another major shutdown.

What do you think of the reactions to the delta variant of the coronavirus?
