Six New England Airbnb hosts have just been named among the best new hosts in America by the booking platform.

The company’s 50 picks for best new host in every US state – including Ronald B. in Massachusetts; Pat H. in Connecticut; Jonathan W. in Maine; Jaclyn C. in NH; Susan M. in RI; and KTT in Vermont – have a collective average rating of 4.9 out of 5, anticipate their customers’ needs, pay attention to detail, and “add thoughtful touches that surprise and delight.”

New hosts on Airbnb have earned $6 billion in revenue since coronavirus pandemic started, according to Airbnb.

“Great hosts have always been the cornerstone of our community and seeing hosts achieve the success these people have in less than a year and during a pandemic is nothing short of inspiring,” wrote Airbnb.

Pat H., Airbnb’s Top New Host for Connecticut, told Airbnb that ‘the desire to create beauty out of hardship’ during the pandemic was the reason she opened the first floor bedroom of her home to travellers.

“It was a natural extension of our restoration; a time when old-fashioned community and hospitality was wanted and needed,” Pat told Airbnb.
