After a year stuck indoors, an outdoor adventure, especially away from home, could be the cure for our ailments. Airbnb understands this and wants to help: in partnership with the bottled water company Volvic, the roommate site offers a new ad that allows customers to sleep surrounded by 80 dormant volcanoes in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in France. , with a mini-house housing very far from any other sign of civilization. Now It is some social distancing.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Chaîne des Puys tectonic zone (the source of Volvic mineral water) in east-central France is the backdrop to this off-grid list, with sprawling fields and volcanic peaks on the horizon (a comfortable 10 km). Guests can enjoy the view of the landscape from their cabin: technically a LumiPod, a luxurious circular room with a 180-degree curved window. The bedroom occupies one hemisphere and a bathroom and closet occupy the other. The glass panels surrounding the bedroom open fully to allow people to sleep “outside”.

The circular room has glass panels that transform the bedroom into an open-air pavilion.

During this overnight stay you will be hosted by Killian Jornet, a Norway-based skier-mountaineer (someone who climbs mountains on skis, nbd) and trail runner who has been named ‘Adventurer of the year ”by National Geographic in 2014 and 2018. The list includes more than just a place to rest your head. Expect a dinner for two by local Michelin-starred chef Adrien Descouls (which will be prepared in his restaurant and then delivered to your room), a private sunrise yoga session, and a hot air balloon flight with views of the volcanoes.
