TRIPADVISOR has revealed the most popular UK holiday hotpots for Britons this summer as domestic travel continues to increase.

The hotspots of Devon, Cornwall and Yorkshire have all become increasingly popular, with UK holiday searches increasing 384% from January.

Using data to examine national research, compared to last year, Torquay of Devon has gained the most popularity.

According to TripAdvisor, one of the most popular things to do in Devon is a gin-making experience at the Gin Nest, although the beaches in Devonshire are also popular.

Torquay is closely followed by Windermere in the Lake District and York in Yorkshire.

Unsurprisingly perhaps, Newquay, in Cornwall, was on the list, with the coastal destination warning of sold-out holidays and some families have even been put on waiting lists for summer holidays in Cornwall This year.

Bath in Somerset remains popular, also boosted by the popularity of the Netflix series Bridgerton which was filmed there, while seaside destinations Brighton and Bournemouth were also in the top 10.
