A slew of Hammers fans had already pre-booked to make the trip abroad ahead of their fourth defeat, but their response has been impressive in helping desperate Gers supporters find the best cost-effective routes to Sevilla.

Not only did they actively seek out Light Blues fans on social media to offer name changes on flights at no additional cost, but others transferred tickets at face value.

One Rangers fan has even suggested the Ibrox club host a pre-season friendly this summer to show their appreciation.

Rangers are expected to have a ticket allocation of just 9,500 inside the 42,000 capacity Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadion, with plenty more for soaking up the sun and watching the game in surrounding bars and restaurants.

Fans left without tickets for the match but traveling to Sevilla could watch the action from a fan zone in the city. Unconfirmed reports suggest it could be held in Plaza de Espana.

The supporters who go DO NOT overseas travel awaits word from the club, Scottish Police and Glasgow City Council on whether a fanzone can take place in the city, with Ibrox Stadium being the obvious option.

Just over a week before the flagship event of May 18, Gers supporters have stocked up on money to book plane, train, car and even hot air balloon trips!

It will cost around £2,228.59 to stay in Sevilla during the final, if fans are flying in from Glasgow, while flying from Edinburgh is slightly cheaper with an overall cost of around £2,092.85.

AIRBNB AND HOTEL RATES SOAR AROUND EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL DATE

Seville is hosting a major final for only the third time in the city’s history and as a result hotel and flight rates have risen sharply on the day of the final.

May 18 rates jumped 169.98% (using May 17 as a base) for AirBnb listings and 103.74% for bookings.com listings.

Checking in on May 17 seems like a better “value for money” option, as shown below:

FLIGHT RATES ARE GOING A SHARP INCREASE

There is a marked increase in flight prices from both cities on May 18 – 65.19% from Glasgow (using May 17 as a base) and 81.31% from Edinburgh.

The different flight prices are illustrated below:

PLAN A LONGER TRIP IF YOU WANT BETTER VALUE

While the Europa League final is of course the top priority for football fans, if you want to get your money’s worth it’s best to arrive a few days before the final and leave a day or two after.
