AAnnounced for several months, the European certificate allowing travel this summer has been available since Wednesday. With a big warning: its recognition across all the countries of the Union will not be official until July 1. We are therefore in a phase test. Only a few countries like Greece or Croatia accept the Belgian pass as proof of entry at this stage.

All travelers who will leave the country before June 30 are advised to visit the Foreign Affairs website to check which documents to present at the border of the country they wish to visit.

The easiest way to get your European travel certificate is to download the app to your smartphone this Wednesday. It’s called CovidSafeBe and is already available everywhere. It is downloadable on the platforms IOS and Android.

For those who do not have a smartphone, it is also possible to request a paper version of the certificate. To do this, you must call the call center in your Region (02 / 214.19.19 in Brussels, the number is not yet known for Wallonia). The printed pass will then arrive by post in the following days. In the paper context, there is no real interest in the 48 or 72 hour PCR tests. On the other hand, for people vaccinated or who had covid less than six months ago, it remains an alternative to the application.
