TUI Marella resumes airline cruise program with seven-night trip from Corfu
TUI’s Marella Cruises will resume its international program with a trip from the Greek island of Corfu next month.
Passengers can fly from Gatwick to join the Marella Discovery ship to visit destinations such as Crete, Santorini, Mykonos and Rhodes from September 3.
The ban on international cruises departing from England, in place for more than a year, was lifted this week.
Chris Hackney, UIS The Managing Director for UK and Ireland Cruises said: “The decision to lift the ban on international cruises is great news for the industry.
“After the safe and successful launch of National Cruise, it is exciting to know that cruise ships can start sailing internationally very soon.
“Our domestic cruises have received fantastic customer reviews and we will continue to operate them from Southampton and Newcastle in August before resuming international cruises in September from our home ports in the UK and Corfu.”
