Twin-bed Airbnb in Glasgow’s West End is listed at £ 6,300 -A-NIGHT for a family of four in August

Holidaymakers are urged to shell out nearly £ 52,000 per week for an Airbnb for four in central Glasgow.

The single rental in the city’s West End costs £ 6,300 per night for a couple and two children in August.

For a family of four to stay on the property for a week, it would cost 163 times more than a week in a hotel in the Maldives.

The host of the property, known only as John, offers guests a personal tour of the ‘architectural gem’, which is part of a former parish college.

A family of four wishing to stay there between August 7-14 will end up paying £ 51,618 after the Airbnb service charge and cleaning fee of £ 40 is factored in.

This works out to £ 1,843.50 per person per night for the popular Park Circus Lane address, a stone’s throw from beautiful Kelvingrove Park.

Features of the house include two bedrooms, three smart TVs, a fully equipped kitchen with all appliances as well as columns and stained glass windows.

The ad reads: “As one of Glasgow’s most famous residential buildings, Trinity was designed by Charles Wilson and was built in 1857 as the Free Church of Scotland College.

He promises: “I will personally welcome you to my property, show you around and be available 24/7 to answer any questions or concerns, in order to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

But for a fraction of the cost, even factoring in air travel and quarantine, places more exotic than Scotland’s largest city are available.

John did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Concern has grown this year about the skyrocketing cost of national vacations, caused by the uncertainty surrounding overseas travel.

Center Parcs has come under fire for its summer rates after it emerged they charge more in some cases than a family vacation in the Caribbean.

And a holiday park in North Cornwall has reportedly quoted £ 3,700 for a family to stay for a week.
