‘UK Disneyland’ resort to launch next year, theme park boss confirms

Work on a new £ 2.5bn resort that has been likened to a ‘Disneyland for the UK’ will continue next year, a theme park boss has confirmed.

The resort near London is expected to be the biggest theme park investment in Europe since Disneyland launched in Paris in 1992.

The billion dollar project was first announced in 2012, with the aim of opening by 2019, but due to the coronavirus pandemic and the backlash of residents, London Park has suffered significant delays.

It has also been reported that the park’s plans conflict with wildlife protection laws as part of the complex has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to several rare species in the area, report The sun.

The park is expected to open in 2024

But despite opposition, park boss Pierre-Yves Gerbeau has confirmed that the station should open by 2024.

Mr Gerbeau said there would only be “subtle” design changes to protect land near the complex and assured that there would be no “significant changes,” according to Kent Online.

The London boss went on to say he would work with the government to find “middle ground” to help reduce any impact on the region.

He said: “We remain committed to providing the review authority with new and updated documents as previously promised.

“We can also confirm, as previously stated, that we will address the full range of issues related to the fact that the time-dependent information will be sufficiently up-to-date and that, as part of the normal process of any review, we will supplement our reports with Additional Information. “

He had already addressed angry activists last month and said: “To all the naysayers and harbingers of doom, the London Resort is proceeding as planned.”

The 535-acre site, located between Gravesend and Dartford in Kent, is expected to house a number of amenities, including a water park, three hotels and a shopping district.

Together, Mr. Gerbeau will work with BBC Studios, ITV and Paramount and divide the resort into six different themed grounds, including The Studios and the fairytale land The Woods.

The theme park will also feature a King Arthur-themed The Kingdom, a futuristic section, and a jungle-themed terrain.

One of the areas will be dedicated to dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures and will be called Base Camp, which will feature two roller coasters.

The complex will also include three hotels

The first roller coaster will be the fastest in Europe and can reach speeds of around 70 mph, while the other will be a family ride that shows guests how to interact with dinosaurs while undertaking a mission.

Other features will include a 1,500-person stage show and an “active dig site” where park visitors can search for fossils, climb walls and zip lines.

The theme park will eventually become a two-park complex, with hopes for the second in 2029.

It should be three times the size of any other theme park in the UK.
