Urgent Product Recall Issued for Entire SFS Chicken Line Due to Presence of Salmonella

A food recall alert has been issued by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) due to the presence of salmonella and blue rubber pieces in certain products on sale in supermarkets and stores across the country.

Supermarket chain Asda is recalling its Asda Little Kids Pasta Bolognese and Little Kids Spaghetti Bolognese because some of the wrappers contain bits of blue rubber, making them unfit for consumption.

Meanwhile, food brand SFS is recalling its entire line of chicken products and an additional product, Little Hill Farm Chicken Breast Fillets, because salmonella has been found in some of their product lines.

The SFS recall affects their SFC Crispy Dippers, SFC Crispy Dippers (Halal), SFC Southern Fried Chicken Strips, SFC Southern Fried Chicken Strips (Halal), SFC Mega Box, SFC Southern Fried Chicken Burgers, SFC Poppets, SFC Poppets (Halal), SFC Boneless To Go Bucket, SFC Boneless To Go Box, SFC Boneless To Go Box (Halal) and SFC Chicken Nuggets in various pack sizes.



Food brand SFS recalls its entire line of chicken products

All batch codes are affected with expiry dates until June 30, 2022 inclusive. Products after this expiry date are not affected.

According to the FSA, the company implemented additional food safety checks in November 2020 to improve the safety of its products. They have now taken the precautionary step of recalling all products produced before the new additional controls were put in place.

Meanwhile, the Asda recall for their Asda Little Kids Pasta Bolognese and Little Kids Spaghetti Bolognese products states that the presence of the blue rubber poses a choking hazard, making these products unsafe to eat. These products are past their expiration date but are suitable for home freezing, and customers may have these products and date codes in their freezers.
