Visit the incredible vacation home that mirrors the California desert and has its own mountain
Invisible House is a 22-story mirrored horizontal skyscraper that virtually disappears into the desert landscape that surrounds it.
For $ 2,500 a night (€ 2,100), you and 7 friends will have 36 hectares to yourself, not to mention a 1,200m mountain and access to Joshua Tree National Park in Southeastern California. .
The house was designed by a film producer and artist to help guests connect with nature. Features like floor-to-ceiling sliding doors bring the outdoors in, while walking trails through the surrounding lands allow you to get up close to nature.
The owners say the property was built to “float on the rocks” and have minimal impact on the landscape. They say the property’s footprint is “close to zero” as it is powered by electricity and built with environmentally friendly materials.
You will enjoy a one bedroom house right next to the main house. Known as the OMD Prefab, it has been moved from its original home on Venice Beach and has also been designed with eco-friendly considerations in mind.
Without taking a stroll through Joshua Tree National Park, guests can use the 30m indoor pool, an 86-inch 4K TV, or the barbecue that converts into a fire pit.
Besides being a vacation home, Invisible House can be booked for private events. The 20m projection wall will definitely make your Powerpoint presentation stand out.
Previous guests have described Invisible House as “a once in a lifetime place to stay. I loved the house, the foyer, the pool … all the beautiful hikes that start from the house. Incredible !!! ”and,“ This is an amazing gem! Superb. The best airbnb I have stayed in. “
