VOLGARE by puntofilipino combines fashion and motorcycle culture
‘volgare store’ is a multifaceted retail interior designed for the contemporary man
Located on a busy street in Milano, VOLGARE is an eclectic menswear store combining the latest fashions with motorcycle accessories. Gema Gutiérrez of the Spanish studio Puntofilipino led the interior design, materializing the desire of her client – a motorcycle enthusiast – to create a sales area dedicated to contemporary man.
VOLGARE is inspired by the Milanese creative scene as well as the colors and shapes of Mexican, Moroccan, Spanish and Portuguese creations. It also features a multifaceted blend of organic tones and textures, evoking the iconic lifestyle of the Amalfi Coast.

marrying Mexican modernism with Spanish, Portuguese and Moroccan influences
In a nod to the neighborhood’s multicultural roots and using the remains of the building as the foundation of VOLGARE, Puntofilipino (see more here) married the ideals of Mexican Modernism – an art movement that first flourished in the 1920s – with Portuguese, Spanish and Moroccan influences. This eclecticism is specifically articulated through contrasting elements that adorn the store: thick, multicolored glass bricks with terrazzo flooring and interior walls varying in a spectrum of concrete, orange, dusty blue, amber and ecru.
‘The result is an immersive and intoxicating world of color and warmth. The studio didn’t hold back with their style of fusing colors, patterns, textures and vintage in one space – it’s loud, fun and simple! comments Puntophilipino.
