What a magical year! York attraction has 100,000 reasons to celebrate

A York attraction celebrates its first birthday today with treats at every level!

The Hole In Wand at Coppergate revealed it had welcomed 100,000 visitors since May 17, 2021.

This is the day Covid restrictions were eased, allowing the magical golf venue to open its doors for the first time.

Visitor numbers exceeded expectations for the spellbinding duo behind the Hole In Wand, Ben Fry and Phil Pinder.

Ben said: “We can’t believe 12 months have already passed and we are about to enter our second year.

“We have made several positive changes to golf following initial visitor feedback with further exciting changes to be announced, ensuring our visitors always have a truly magical time.”

It’s been an enchanting year

“Opening a tourist attraction in York certainly has its challenges, but it is equally rewarding,” added Phil.

“There are so many great things for locals and visitors to do and the offer is continually improving and we are delighted to be a part of it.”

The attraction has also racked up an impressive 100,000 views on TikTok and has been rated 4.5 out of 5 by visitors on multiple review sites.

To celebrate the birthday, every wizard who plays golf today (Tuesday 17 May) will receive a treat worth £4.99.

The Hole in Wand York wasn’t the only new offering from The Potions Cauldron team in the last 12 months.

They also opened The Potions Express at York Station, launched a new potions experience at their Shambles premises, launched a new Cauldron Cola and recently announced a second Hole in Wand attraction which will open June 4 in Blackpool.
