Why It’s Not Too Early To Start Celebrating Halloween In New Jersey
Are you starting to see Halloween displays and decorations in stores?
Yes, it’s still August, but that’s nothing new and something we should be used to by now.
Every year, the holidays appear earlier and earlier in (department) stores.
We were just complaining that it was the 4th of July and the back to school supplies were already sold out and now we are so close to reopening the schools, it’s basically Halloween.
Stores like HomeGoods and TJ Maxx already have Halloween decor on the shelves. You can find Halloween cooking supplies, dish towels, bath towels, rugs, pillows, and even coffee and treats.
Home improvement stores like Lowe’s are starting to roll out Halloween lawn decorations and if you’re a Disney fan, they’re fully stocked with Haunted Mansion decor.
But the one store people flock to for Halloween costumes, props, decorations, pretty much anything, is Spirit Halloween and yes, there are. New Jersey stores already open.
If you didn’t know, Spirit Halloween was born right here in the Garden State.
The flagship store is located in Egg Harbor Township.
This specific location had its grand opening on July 31 and there was actually people camp the night before be on the front line.
This particular place draws a crowd every year, but this year the VIP guests were treated to something very special.
Did you know that a Spirit Halloween movie is coming out on streaming services?
The guests were treated to the beginnings of the movie trailer and an appearance by some actors.
Since then, other New Jersey locations have opened.
I took a trip to Spirit Halloween opening weekend in Flemington and they were filled with costumes, props, weird animatronics and decorations.
If you are a Halloween fan, now is the best time to start shopping as the shelves are full.
If you wait until after Labor Day weekend to stock up, you’ll be missing out on some of the best Halloween merchandise these stores carry.
So I say, don’t wait. If you see it and like it, buy it and start preparing your Halloween tree. What is a Halloween Tree? That’s another discussion for another day.
You still not ready to let Summer go? There is still a little time to go down the shore.
