Wings Over North Georgia hybrid air show 2021 plans announced

The 2021 Wings Over North Georgia Drive-In Air Show kicks off at Russell Regional Airport in Rome, Ga. On October 30-31. The event will feature headlining performances by the US Navy Blue Angels and US Air Force ACC A-10 Thunderbolt II Demonstration Team.

COVID-19 restrictions in 2020 forced JLC Air Show Management to create guidelines and a format that allow social distancing or face the risk of cancellation. The result was a drive-in format. Airshow attendees embraced and enjoyed the new approach which provided a 10ft by 20ft location for a vehicle with adjacent 10ft by 20ft space to enjoy the tailgate air show with friends and family. Following positive feedback, the decision was made to continue using the drive-in style airshow in 2021 with an additional ‘hilltop’ patio section offering a table, chairs, and umbrella for use. groups of six.

“We hosted our first event in 2012 and have always listened to feedback from guests attending our air shows,” said JLC AirShow Management President John Cowman. “Each year we have incorporated enhancements and enhancements to continue to deliver one of the best show experiences in the United States The Wings Over North Georgia Air Show was recently voted # 7 USA Today Fan Favorite Air Show in the world and is also a premier fall event for Northwest Georgia.
