Streaming sensation Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel returned from TwitchCon to share news of a meeting the Content Creators had with Twitch staff and how Tyler1 asked a bizarre question.

TwitchCon has come and gone, leaving attendees plenty to look back on with horrific foam pit falls and stalker incidents to name a few.

During the convention, Twitch streamers had the opportunity to meet with some of the platform’s most senior officials and voice their concerns about the site’s evolution.

According to xQc, while many were worried about ads on the platform, Tyler1 took the opportunity to push for the opposite.

xQc says Tyler1 asked for more ads on Twitch

During flowthe former Overwatch League pro explained that everyone in the room was asking for fewer ads, wishing the site did something about their influx.

As this was happening, Tyler1 raised his hand and joked with the Twitch CEO, “brother, can we get a five minute button ad please?”

xQc continued to recall the conversation with Tyler1 explaining, “Three minutes is fine, but I need five minutes. I do not care. People get about 40 hours of free content, watch the fucking ads, b*tch.

As Tyler joked, Twitch ads have been a hotly debated topic in the community with big names such as Asmongold and Valkyrae claiming they’re “killing” the streaming platform.

It also comes as Twitch plans to end a 70/30 revenue split for some streamers, opting instead for a universal 50/50 split citing the operating costs needed to run the site.

The backlash even led IRL streamer JakeNBake to call Twitch president Dan Clancy “out of touch” after meeting with him to discuss the controversial revenue split change.

Either way, at least Tyler1 can find some humor in the whole situation, but let’s just hope Twitch doesn’t take his joke too seriously and actually implement another button ad.
