Dorset’s Trigon Farm and Dewflock Farm campsites top ATS ‘hidden gems’ list

New research has uncovered the UK’s top 10 ‘hidden gems’ camping pitches with two Dorset Pitches taking first and second place.

Trigon Farm in Wareham took first place, followed closely by Dewflock Farm in Dorchester.

British the campsite has exploded in the last two yearswith 4.5 million Britons camping or caravanning for the first time since the start of the pandemic, according to Mintel.

To discover the hidden gems of the country, tire and vehicle service provider, Euromaster ATSresearched the best camping destinations that social media doesn’t know about, revealing the number of reviews of online camping sites with fewer than five Instagram tags.

These hidden gems won’t break the bank either, with prices starting at just £8 a night for two adults.

The top rated UK locations that have flown under the social media radar are:

Arguably Britain’s richest city in archaeological and architectural treasures, Chester boasts the most comprehensive city walls, oldest hippodrome and largest Roman amphitheater in the UK.

Dorset undeveloped camping destination

Often these can be hidden gems that offer the best camping experience. It’s a great way to escape the crowds while enjoying serene surroundings in some of the UK’s most popular camping destinations.

Using review data from a range of websites and online communities, ATS also found 10 undeveloped campsites in well-known counties to pitch a tent or pull a trailer.

Nestled in Dorset is the Highlands End Holiday Park in Bridport.

According to Pitch up, the campsite is aptly named, located atop a cliff on the Jurassic Coast. Describing it as “most uplifting”, he says it overlooks the dramatic blue waters of Lyme Bay and enjoys walkway access to World Heritage Coast walks.
