New ‘friends’ themed Airbnb opens in downtown Victoria

Do you know this show? The one with the purple apartment? You certainly do, and a new Airbnb in downtown Victoria wants to help you feel like you’re living in the famous apartment of “Friends.”

It is called, knowingly, “The one with the purple apartmentand it is located at 562 Yates Street in a heritage building near the Johnson Street Bridge.

It’s not an exact replica of Monica’s apartment, but there are enough homages and elements to the hit sitcom to make it obvious and fun. The walls are, of course, the same iconic purple. The TV is correctly placed between two doors, the kitchen, which includes a dishwasher, stove and microwave, is painted in the same turquoise color, with the same subtle curve in the counter and a refrigerator in appearance similar.

And remember that turquoise shelf right next to the door that separates it from the kitchen? This Airbnb has one too, except it’s under the stairs.

And the stairs are definitely the biggest difference between this Victoria Airbnb apartment and Monica Geller’s in “Friends.” The staircase – with a panel that reminds you of PIVOT – leads to an upstairs bedroom with exposed brick walls of approximately 150 square feet.

The ground floor of the apartment is approximately 350 square feet, the TV includes access to Crave (where you can watch “Friends“), and there is also a roof terrace accessible to residents.

The apartment is also equipped with an air conditioning unit, wi-fi, various “FriendsEaster eggs, and, while there is no parking available on-site, the host notes that there is a city parking lot nearby.

The One with the Purple Apartment is almost booked until the end of August, but most September dates are still open. We know. Could you be more excited?
