Three Americans found dead in Mexico City Airbnb
Three Americans have died in an Airbnb rental in Mexico City.
Carbon monoxide poisoning is strongly suspected as the cause.
Authorities confirm that autopsies have been performed.
The Mexico City prosecutor’s office ordered an investigation and the house was removed from Airbnb.
They have been identified as Kandace Florence and Jordan Marshall, both 28, of Virginia Beach, and Courtez Hall, 28, of New Orleans.
Friends were in town celebrating Day of the Dead.
“We are closely following the local authorities’ investigation into the cause of death. We stand ready to provide all appropriate consular assistance,” the US State Department said in a statement.
“Our priority at this time is to support those affected as authorities investigate what happened, and we stand ready to respond to their investigations as we can,” Airbnb said.
