An Airbnb host in Dublin lists his tent for almost 5,800 rupees per night

The Dublin “private house” is no longer trackable and has been removed from the website.

An Airbnb host in Dublin recently advertised a “private room” under the stars for nearly $75 (5,800 rupees) a night, but it was really just a pop-up tent on a concrete slab in the garden.

A screenshot of the popular property rental website’s listing has made its way to social media. The “private room in Dublin” offers a bed and a bath, presumably in the house behind which it was installed. It was listed by an Airbnb host named Paul, who has more than 1,500 reviews for other spots, according to New York Post.

At first, many thought someone was making a joke because of soaring property prices in Dublin. However, those speculations were clarified when a housing campaigner emailed the user asking if the advertisement was true.

The Airbnb host responded by saying the ad was indeed true. He said that “it’s not a joke” and that he also had a comfortable sofa in the living room if she preferred. According to the screenshot provided by the housing campaigner, Mr Paul also said he had a very large living room and several sofas which were also listed.

Separately, Nick Capa, Twitter user also posted a screenshot of the same “private room” and said he almost cried seeing how “unreasonable” the actual accommodations in Dublin were.

After the post went viral, netizens criticized the Airbnb host for charging heavily for a tent in its concrete garden. This left netizens puzzled. While some tag Airbnb and write, “how do you advertise stuff like this”, others said, “who the hell would book if it was true”.
