It was the ultimate dream apartment for single working women all over the 1990s, and now it’s become a fantasy come true – with help from Airbnb.
A recreation of Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic New York apartment from the HBO series “Sex and the City” is now available for rent for $ 23 a night – but, alas, that’s only for a short time.
“It’s been 23 years since I first stepped into Carrie’s shoes, and now it’s your turn,” actress Sarah Jessica Parker said on the Airbnb listing. Parker, who is the virtual host of the short-term vacation rental, rose to fame thanks to the role of legendary fashionista / columnist Carrie Bradshaw who was constantly looking for love in the Big Apple.
The Mirrored Brownstone is pure Carrie: from her Vogue magazine collection to her Manolo Blahnik shoes, it’s all there. And who can forget the gold necklace without which the character hardly ever left the house?
The real draw is this famous closet, which fans who book the rental can rummage through and “play dress up” followed by a photoshoot, the listing promises.
Guests can also expect to brunch in Chelsea like Carrie and her friends Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha did, including sipping on the girls’ cosmopolitan signature.
The only thing missing is Carrie’s main push – Mr. Big.
“There’s no one like Carrie, and there’s no place like New York City through her eyes,” Parker said on Airbnb. “As a New Yorker myself, I am delighted to give those she has inspired over the years the opportunity to walk in her place for an unforgettable night.”
Parker also shared the news on Instagram.
The apartment reservation opens November 8 at noon EST and two people can only book overnight stays on November 12 and 13.
A sequel to “Sex and the City”, “And Just Like That …” to be released on HBO in December and stars Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Chris Noth reprising their original roles. The show will consist of 10 half-hour episodes, IMDb reports.
