A major boost for Britons after Spain lifts all remaining Covid restrictions for holidaymakers

SPAIN has lifted all its Covid travel restrictions for holidaymakers with immediate effect.

The decision takes effect from today and will be good news for the thousands of Brits planning mid-term break.

The lifting of the rules was confirmed by the Spanish government in its official bulletin.

He says the restrictions on travelers were no longer justified given the drop in cases.

Today, the UK government also confirmed the new situation in a midnight update.

In its updated travel advice, it said: “As of October 21, 2022, all Covid travel restrictions for travelers to Spain have been lifted.”

The rules that previously applied to travelers coming to Spain no longer apply. Here is an update:

  • You are no longer required to show proof of full vaccination.
  • You are no longer required to present proof of a negative Covid test.
  • You are no longer required to present proof of having recovered from Covid within the past six months.
  • You are no longer required to complete a health check form before travelling.

Spain last month scrapped the requirement for UK holidaymakers to complete a health declaration form and present it on arrival.

But the country has kept its Covid travel restrictions in place.

During the virus crisis, Britons have repeatedly found trips to Spain interrupted by rules imposed by the two countries.

Traveling to a number of countries outside of Europe remains difficult without proof of vaccination, including the United States.
