Earlier this year, Adriana Lima’s billionaire neighbor paid the modest sum of 40 million dollars for his Miami mansion. Today, the affluent Brazilian supermodel is switching shores and landing in Los Angeles, where records show she shelled out north of $12million for a brand new home in Brentwood.
Never officially offered for sale and completed this year by a developer, the 7,500-square-foot mansion had been quietly marketed as a “transitional farmhouse,” as opposed to the more typical modern farmhouse-style construction found in the city. Set behind gates on a main street, the home’s open living spaces feature high ceilings and custom light fixtures throughout, accented by decadent slabs of Calacatta marble and warm oak paneling.
The front door opens into a long hallway with an unobstructed view of the backyard through glass walls. Immediately to the right is a formal dining room served by a convenient bar, and there are also two kitchens – one for the ‘show’ with two marble islands and sleek Miele appliances, the other a ‘hidden’ unit more small where the real cooking – the smells and all – is meant to take place. Custom cabinets and a pantry provide plenty of storage.
There is also a living room with a marble fireplace, as well as an open family room with stylish backlit shelving. Upstairs, the master bedroom offers views of the surrounding backyard and treetops, and the unusually huge second-floor balcony offers plenty of entertaining opportunities.
Five bedrooms with bathroom are scattered in the main house; the south-west corner of the plot houses a detached guest house with an additional bedroom and bathroom. A 45-foot swimming pool is flanked by a bar, fire pit, and barbecue center. The back lawn is drought-tolerant AstroTurf, and the property spans a flat third of an acre, relatively generous for this part of town. Other amenities on the estate include a movie theater, gym, and refrigerated wine cellar.
Lima and her fiancé Andre Lemmers, both 41, previously resided in a rented home in Santa Monica, near the popular Brentwood Country Market shopping/dining destination. The Victoria’s Secret Angel ex also long owned a multimillion-dollar condo in New York City, though that Midtown Manhattan Unit was sold a few years ago.
