Airbnb Bengaluru: Airbnb will open a technology hub in Bangalore

New Delhi: Online accommodation platform Airbnb announced on Saturday the opening of a new tech hub in Bangalore to help it serve its “global community”. The Bengaluru Technology Center will aim to create skilled local jobs, with plans for the center to house a few hundred people in the initial stages, followed by an expanded footprint in the future, the company said in a statement.

“India is an extremely important market for Airbnb. The opening of this technology hub will reinforce our continued investments in the country and demonstrates our long-term vision for growing our local business in the future,” said the co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Airbnb. Officer Nathan Blecharczyk said.

He further stated, “The technology hub we are announcing today will strengthen our ability to serve our global community, while providing new opportunities for talented local engineers and technology specialists.”

Airbnb’s Chief Technology Officer, Ari Balogh, said the new Bengaluru hub will allow the company to work with “some of the brightest tech talent in India while allowing Airbnb to continue to evolve our foundations. techniques and creating truly exceptional guest and host experiences on the platform.”
