Airbnb Host Gave Guests Dog Food In Spaghetti: Ex-Worker Reveals Favorite Complaint

A woman claiming to be a former Airbnb employee has shared her own horror story during her time at the company.

Marie shared her story on her TikTok account, @msmysteryjoneswhich contains several other videos about working at Airbnb.

His favorite story was about a host who allegedly fed his guests spaghetti with dog food.

Marie says she received a complaint about a host who listed her rental as a “private space” when it was actually a shared space.

She said she told the host to edit the list as soon as possible to avoid penalties. Guests who complained were nice about it, according to Marie, before another problem arose.

“The [guests] were like, ‘hey, here’s that second problem. She made us spaghetti,” Marie explained. “I was like ‘oh, well, that was really nice of her.’

However, Marie said guests started telling her the meal tasted strange, prompting them to rummage through the host’s trash cans.

“‘We couldn’t find any canned ground beef or canned ground meat or polystyrene packaging for the ground meat,'” Marie said, repeating what guests would have told her.

“‘We found an empty can of dog food, though.'”

Marie said she looked at previous reviews from this particular host where guests had raved about their spaghetti and was shocked.

In the caption of the now-deleted video, Marie wrote, “Refund money exchanged between hands that day.”

Marie’s story caused debate among commentators as some argued how safe it was to take food from strangers while others tried to give the host the benefit of the doubt.

“That’s why my parents taught me never to eat somewhere if you haven’t seen it cooked and you don’t. [know] the person personally,” one user wrote.

“Maybe the meat was in his Tupperware freezer?” writes another.

A third person argued that “there was no evidence it was dog food”.

In a follow-up video, Marie said she speculated the host was likely an elderly person who might have mistaken canned beef for canned dog food.

“She had a dog,” Marie said. “It could have been an honest mistake. Anyway, I felt really bad about the whole situation.

The Sun contacted Airbnb for comment, which said, “this person was never an Airbnb employee.”

Marie told The Sun that she was hired by a third-party call center contracted by Airbnb to do their job.
