AirBnb launches new upgrades – The Economic Times

Airbnb is rolling out a series of new features that will help it attract new hosts, provide more protection for its host community, and introduce a new way to search for properties around the world.

The company is launching Airbnb Setup to give millions of people easy access to Airbnb at home.

Over the past year, more than 30 million people have visited Airbnb to learn more about accommodations.

“Airbnb was born during a recession. Joe and I couldn’t afford our rent, so we inflated three air mattresses and started an AirBed & Breakfast. Soon people from all over the world joined us,” said Brian Chesky, CEO and co-founder of Airbnb. “Today, just like during the Great Recession in 2008, people are especially interested in earning extra income through hosting. That’s why we’re launching an easy way for millions of Airbnb people to come home With the Airbnb setup, every new host can get personalized, free advice from a Superhost, from their first question to their first reservation.

According to the company, new homes on Airbnb are booked almost immediately.

Half of listings that were activated and booked in Q3 2022 received their first booking within three days.

Last November, Airbnb introduced AirCover to provide unparalleled top-to-bottom protection for every host on Airbnb. The company is now rolling out major AirCover upgrades for hosts. A statement from the company says its identity verification extends to all customers who book and travel in the top 35 countries and regions on Airbnb, which accounts for 90% of all bookings. And its triple damage protection, from $1 million to $3 million, covering both a host’s home and its contents.

In May, Airbnb introduced a new search method designed around Airbnb categories.

Today, the company introduced six new categories: new homes added to Airbnb in the last 10 weeks; Top of the world – Homes about 10,000 feet above sea level, often with stunning views; Trending – Top rated homes that received more listing views compared to the previous week; Adapted – Houses adapted for wheelchair access, with verified paths without steps in the house, bedroom and bathroom; Play – Houses with basketball courts, game rooms, miniature golf, water slides and more and Hanoks – Traditional Korean houses built with natural materials.

The company said Airbnb setup, AirCover upgrades for hosts, and new Airbnb categories will begin rolling out globally this week.
