Airbnb partners with Cannabis Farm in Petaluma, California

With COVID cases declining, the tourism industry, including Airbnb, is well on its way to thriving again. Cannabis tourism in particular, is also intensifying, thanks to the continued increase in the number of states working or deploying their recreational and/or medical cannabis industries. One such example is a partnership between Airbnb and a cannabis farm called Sonoma Hills Farm in Petaluma, California.

The farm is located on 60 acres in Sonoma County, located southeast of Mendocino County, which is an area famous for top-notch cannabis cultivation. As is customary with Airbnb listings, the official name of this home describes what its hosts hope guests will experience during their stay: “Live the high life on the Sonoma Hills farm.”

According to the farm’s Vice President of Cannabis Cultivation and Production, Aaron Keferit prides itself on providing a relaxing and unique vacation experience to interested guests.

“If this sounds like a dream job, it’s because it is. While I have a background in gardening and gastronomy (I spent a decade as the lead culinary gardener at the nationally acclaimed gastronomic institution The French Laundry in nearby Napa as the lead culinary gardener),” shares Keefer. “My heart is here on the farm, where I can combine my love of food and my obsession with gardening to grow my favorite flora: cannabis. I hope you leave our farm with the same passion I feel for this practice and maybe even a budding green thumb.

Keefer said in an interview with Forbes that its main objective is to “normalize” the cultivation of hemp and cannabis. “By offering an insider’s look at how we carefully grow our produce, whether it’s vegetables or cannabis strains, we hope to provide a stay that’s both relaxing and rewarding,” he said. declared. “By connecting with the land, guests will leave with a different perspective than when they arrived and will have supported our farm in a meaningful way.”

However, staying on the farm does not directly connect customers with licensed cannabis plants or products. “Due to legal regulations and limitations, guests will not visit a licensed cannabis grow operation or interact with cannabis,” the Airbnb listing says.

“Guests instead have access to a nearby private home, vegetable garden, and cannabis and hemp farm. These plants look and smell identical to cannabis plants, but contain less than 1% THC and are federally legal. In addition, they will have access to all the other products of the property. The list mentions a selection of CBD products from various Californian companies, such as Green bee plants, Potli, Rose Los Angeles and Jane Westas well as candles garden society.
