Airbnb tightens policies to crack down on NYE parties

San Francisco, December 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) As New Year’s Eve approaches, online vacation rental company Airbnb has announced that it is introducing new products and policies to crack down on disruptive NYE parties.

The company said the anchor of that plan is a ban on one-night NYE bookings in whole-home listings for guests with no history of positive reviews.

“As we build on the party ban and continue to protect our community during this unprecedented time, certain holidays, such as New Year’s Eve, attract higher risks of unauthorized or disruptive parties,” said the company in a press release.

“That’s why we’re introducing new products and policies to crack down on disruptive NYE parties, helping to protect our guests and minimize disruption to the neighborhood,” he added.

The company said it would roll out tighter restrictions on two-night bookings which could pose an increased risk to disruptive parties.

“For example, we will leverage and amplify our technology that restricts certain local and last-minute bookings by guests with no history of positive reviews on Airbnb,” the company said.

Airbnb said guests who have a history of positive reviews on Airbnb will not be subject to these restrictions.

These criteria will be in place for customers attempting to book New Year’s Eve reservations in the United States (including Puerto Rico), Canada, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, France, Spain and UK.
