Airbnb’s most searched for stays around the world

Trip is back on the agenda, and those with wanderlust are busy planning their next trips with many users Airbnb’s wishlist feature to mark your next stays.

When it comes to where to stay, ads classified as unique properties are popular with travelers around the world.

The categories on Airbnb features barns, boats, trains, yurts, cabins and more, as nights booked at unique properties on the site have increased by approximately 50% globally since 2019.

Unique properties are also the top-ranked listings on the accommodation booking platform, with an average of 4.8 stars. Shepherd’s Huts, Barns and Trains have the best average reviews, but Tiny Houses are the most popular single listings with more than 2.5 million nights booked in 2021.

As far as future stays go, the treehouses lead the pack. A leafy residence in the boughs of a 400-year-old oak tree in East Point, Georgia tops Airbnb’s list of the world’s most sought-after unique stays.

We round up the 10 most popular properties and offer a taste of what travelers crave – ranging from a villa in a cave in Crete to a private room in a medieval Irish castle.

Nestled in a leafy neighborhood of East Point, Georgia is Airbnb’s most wanted single listing. the two story tree house sits in a 400-year-old tree and channels a rustic-chic vibe, and has plenty of modern touches to keep travelers happy. Guests can add luxury experiences such as a three-course meal cooked by a celebrity chef, an hour of live music from a violinist, or an on-site couples massage. There is also a hot tub and a huge outdoor space to relax.

Sleeping under a geodesic dome in this cozy retreat in Redwood Grove, California is a haven of serenity, where the only nighttime sounds you’ll hear are the chirping of crickets. This Prussian-style village church in Germany is popular on Airbnb.

This rustic loft style stay in a former church is in East Germany. Located in Brandenburg, the 18th century red brick building was designed in typical Prussian style and overlooks the River Havel. Inside there is a barn-like apartment with 10 meter high ceilings and a wooden loft space. You will sleep in the gallery of the church, where the organ used to be.
