Airbnb’s trending travel destinations for 2023

After two years of not being able to go anywhere without Covid test results and vaccine passports, 2022 has seen the return of international travel. Sure, there was a risk of losing your suitcase (let’s forget the chaos caused by the global baggage crisis this summer), but as tourists flooded airports, one thing was clear: we caught the travel bug again. .

Over the next two weeks Britons will continue to head for warmer climes as Airbnb has revealed that the top categories for check-in dates between December 23-31 include ‘beach’ and ‘pool’ . “National park” completes the top three, followed by “countryside” and “ski destination” in fourth and fifth places.

But where are we traveling in 2023? According to the vacation rental platform, Britons are looking both near and far for their next adventure. Internationally, Spain, France and Australia are proving to be the trending travel destinationswith seven of the top ten spots on Airbnb’s travel list located in these countries.

Stays are always in high demand, although we are heading north next year. Tyne and Wear takes first place. Unsurprisingly, Edinburgh comes second (it is a beautiful city, after all) and West Yorkshire third. Despite the country’s stunning scenery, Cardiff is the only Welsh place in the top ten.
