Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai top Airbnb searches for international travelers

According to Airbnb’s latest data, five popular destinations for domestic and international tourists visiting Thailand are Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya (Chonburi), Chiang Mai and Koh Samui (Surat Thani).

Overseas travelers looking for Airbnb accommodation in Thailand from January to March 2022 are up 180% compared to the same quarter last year. This shows that foreigners are confident in the government’s easing measures. Thai tourism is expected to continue to recover over the next three years. Visit Thailand Year 2022-2023 is a government initiative to promote tourism in Thailand. This will help boost the market and attract more foreign tourists to the country.

According to Airbnb’s latest data, five popular destinations for domestic and international tourists visiting Thailand are Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya (Chonburi), Chiang Mai and Koh Samui (Surat Thani).

To date, more than 2.7 million foreign tourists have visited Thailand, and that number is expected to continue to rise this year. By 2023, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) wants to make Thailand a destination focused on value and sustainability. Thailand’s domestic and international tourist income is between 1.25 trillion and 2.38 trillion baht under three projected economic target scenarios: the worst-case scenario of 1.25 trillion baht, the baseline scenario of 1, 73 trillion baht and best case scenario 2.38 trillion baht.
