Barrington, NH, female featured in the HBO Max series ‘Julia’

Do you remember the 2009 movie “Julie & Julia” starring Amy Adams and the one and only Meryl Streep? I absolutely loved it! Meryl played one hell of a Julia, but again, she can’t hurt in my book.

HBO Max knew we were craving new Julia Child content when they released their “Julia” series. The series explores the life and rise of this chef-turned-icon.

Resha Meylan of Barrington, NH was an extra on the show and said filming was one of the top three experiences of her entire life.

Here are some fun behind-the-scenes facts about what it was like to film on set:

  • On the first day, it waited 13 hours to be used and stayed there for 15 hours in total. I’m told that’s pretty typical. She reveled in every minute!
  • The restoration was where it is. If there was a snack you were craving, chances are you could enjoy plenty of it when you were off-screen. Plus, apparently, there’s unlimited espresso on the set. She had 13 injections in one day (I’m sorry, what?).
  • They paid her to let her cut his hair for the show.
  • The hairstylist for this series also worked on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” If you watch this show, you know how ON POINT hair and makeup are.
  • The other extras were very nice and she made friends for life (this will happen when you stay with someone for 13 hours straight).
  • They filmed all over the Boston area. Resha’s first scene was a “customer at an upscale French restaurant”, and for the next six days she toured the Fairmount Copley Plaza in Boston’s Back Bay for the Gala scene.

Each episode is named after a popular dish, and Resha is featured in episode 7, titled “Foie Gras”, which just aired last Thursday.

She is the one wearing the CLEAR AS DAY blue dress in the Gala scene:

How cool is that?! Our daughter got some serious airtime! We can all agree that she looks like a 1960s BABE in this outfit.

The series is doing well and according to the HollywoodReporter.comit has just been renewed for a second season.
