News of Peter’s exit from Meta arrived on Monday, February 7th. He had joined Facebook in April 2005, when the platform was still in its infancy.

Billionaire Peter Thiel’s impressive net worth explored

According to Forbes, Peter is worth around $2.6 billion.

The acclaimed financier has gained impressive wealth through his successful business ventures.

Now 54, he was one of the main co-founders of Paypal. He is also the managing director of a venture capital company Founders Fund.

Some of Peter’s other investments have been in companies like Airbnb and Affirm, both of which went public last year. He is also an investor in Stripe and SpaceX.

Peter also co-founded a CIA-backed big data startup, Palantize.

However, despite all of his other investments, the financier is best known for being an early investor in Facebook.

Investor leaves Facebook parent company Meta

Meta announced the news of Peter’s exit on Monday with CEO Mark Zuckerberg praising the investor for his contribution to the company.

In his statement, Mark said“Peter has been a valued member of our Board of Directors and I am deeply grateful to him for all he has done for our business, from believing in us when few others would , or teaching me so many lessons about business, economics, and the world.”

Mark further called Peter “an original thinker”.

What’s next for the 54-year-old?

An anonymous source found to the New York Times that Peter plans to “focus on influencing the November midterm elections”.

The report also claims that Peter will support Trump-aligned candidates in the election later this year.

According to the outlet, last year Peter donated $10 million each to the two Republican proteges, Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters and US Senate candidate JD Vance. Ohio.
