Bournemouth’s promotion rivals Fulham are promoted to the Premier League as Mitrovic scores 40 goals

Fulham earned instant promotion to the Premier League after a comfortable 3-0 victory over Preston at Craven Cottage.

After occupying the top two places in the Championship for most of the season alongside Bournemouth, Scott Parker’s former side have regained their top-flight status with four games to go.

They next face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, with the hosts also seeking promotion in the coming weeks.

Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is among the nominations for the Player of the Season award, joining Dominic Solanke, scored twice either side of half-time to take his total for the campaign to 40 – he is not more than two goals behind Guy Whittingham’s 42 goals. transport for Portsmouth in 1992-93, which is the most of any second-tier season in the Premier League era.
