Jack previously said he was convinced to have a transplant after his hair loss became more visible on screen.

He said at the time: ‘I decided to do this because my hair loss has really gotten worse over the past year, especially at the front of my scalp. I remember seeing myself on screen and thinking, ‘Oh my God, this is really falling apart.’

“A mate of mine had a transplant and he looked so much better after that I didn’t recognize him. I was blown away by the improvement and he told me he wished he had it done earlier.

Jack added: “I thought if I had to do it, I would have to act now so I could enjoy it longer.”

“I want to get my hair back to what it was before so I can style it the way I want in the front. It would be great to be able to have an Elvis feather and really have fun with my hair.

Jack then bravely shared the details of his secret eating disorder and sarcastically thanked them for being “nice”.

He tweeted in January 2021: “I have an eating disorder. Thanks for being kind.

WHAT CAUSES HAIR LOSS?

Hair loss is common, with around 25% of men going bald by age 25, according to the American Hair Loss Association.

It is estimated that eight million women in the UK currently suffer from some degree of hair loss, according to a study of 2,000 women by cosmetics giant L’Oreal.

The most common type of hair loss can be triggered by life-changing events, such as moving, bereavement, or pregnancy, resulting in general hair thinning.

Yo-yo diets, the birth control pill, stress, eating disorders, medications, chemicals in water, and modern pesticides in food have also been linked to hair loss.
