Police are investigating a shooting at a home in the 8700 block of Lima Road on December 23, 2021.

Last Thursday, Fort Wayne police were called to a home in the 8700 block of Lima Road following reports of a disturbance with an armed group. Officers found three people with gunshot wounds. All three were taken to hospital.

Alexia Quinn, 33, later died of her injuries. Her husband was shot in the hand and wrist and was in serious but stable condition, according to court documents. Probable cause said Myers was shot in the abdomen and underwent surgery before being admitted to the intensive care unit.

Probable Cause, written by homicide detective Scott Tegtmeyer, also outlines the events leading up to the shooting.

It started at another Fort Wayne home where Myers and another woman, who has not been identified, got into an argument. Myers was upset over a failed threesome sexual encounter Myers had tried to arrange between the woman and a co-worker. Myers was furious that the woman and her colleague had sex without him.

The documents continue to state that Myers got a gun into the bedroom and threatened the woman with it, holding her up and shouting, “Are you ready?” The woman says Myers then fired a shot into the family room. Probable cause said Myers then tried to suffocate her and held a pillow to her chest and face, pointing the gun at her through the pillow.

While this row was happening, Myers’ daughter was in the house and texted her brother, who was at a Christmas party with his friends at the Lima Road house where the shooting happened, to come over. look for her because she was afraid. Her brother came back to the house where Myers and the woman were fighting and dragged her sister out of the house.

The son drove himself and his sister home to Lima Road where they told Quinn and her husband what had happened.

At one point, Myers became concerned about the whereabouts of his children and he and the woman drove to the house in Lima Road, where the children were. On the ride, the woman said Myers was talking about killing her, their children, and himself. Probable cause said the Myers group texted his son and daughter “you can run, but you can’t hide.”

According to court documents, Quinn, her husband and Myers’ son were outside the Lima Road home when Myers and the woman pulled up. The three ran inside and Myers and the woman ran inside after them.

Quinn’s husband told police Myers showed up at the house demanding his children and pulled out a gun, pointing it at Quinn’s head. Court records indicate that Quinn was also armed and that she called on them to lay down their arms. Fearing for his wife’s safety, Quinn’s husband pulled out a .45 caliber CZ pistol loaded with civil defense rounds and shot Myers. He told police he did not know how many times he fired, according to court records.

Myers and the woman ran out of the house, and as Myers began to collapse, he fired at least one shot, as the muzzle flash was seen on security camera footage, the cause likely being described. The woman gave Myers first aid until police arrived. Crime scene technicians found a Taurus G2c 40 caliber pistol next to Myers in the backyard, according to the affidavit.

Police found Quinn in the master bedroom of the Lima Road home. Probable cause said she asked the officer ‘are my kids okay’ and when asked who shot her, she replied ‘Henry Myers’.
