Dalkey mansion previously rented by Matt Damon is up for rent again – and it’s not cheap

THE luxurious Dublin pad that was once rented out by Hollywood star Matt Damon is up for rent again – after selling for £3.5million last year.

The five-star former Dalkey home of Eddie Irvine, ex-Formula 1 driver ‘Ischia’, on Sorrento Road in Dalkey, south Dublin, can be rented out ‘short term only’ for a hefty price of €8,400 per week.

Damon and his family stayed in the five-bedroom mansion at the start of lockdown for €7,000 a week in 2020 and spent several months in the south Dublin village after the pandemic halted filming of Ridley’s The Last Duel Scott.

Damon previously hailed the southern beach town as “one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been”.

Speaking to Spin 1038 Breakfast show ‘Fully Charged with Graham and Nathan’ during his stay, Damon said: “We have this kind of amazing setup in this place, it’s absolutely beautiful.

“Even during lockdown it’s like you have to stay less than two kilometers from your house, I mean two kilometers from here there are trees, forests, woods and oceans, I can’t think of any other place you’d rather want to be within a two kilometer radius of.

“We were supposed to leave last week because the movie was supposed to be done by now, but we’re staying until the end of the kids’ school year just because it’s so peaceful here and everyone is handling it so well. . street, everyone respects all the guidelines.

Hollywood neighbor Bono even joked how annoyed he was with Damon’s cult status in his hometown.

“I lived in this village, or near this village, for 30 years,” Bono told GQ Magazine for a proliferation of the Bourne star.

“That f**er’s been there for three months and they’re making him the king of Dalkey! I mean, it’s amazing.

“He gets caught up in some sort of local photo op with a SuperValu plastic bag, and the rumor that he’s carrying cans, and suddenly he’s got all this credibility that some of us just can’t achieve.

” He is loved ! I mean, there will be a statue of him there. I don’t know what it was and what he did. But I’m very annoyed about it. I’m not happy at all,” he joked at the time.
