Flights from Edinburgh Airport to Australia for just £10 and how to grab them

UK residents will be able to buy return tickets to Australia for just £10 after the launch of a new tourism campaign in the country.

The South Australian Tourism Commission has launched an initiative to bring young adults to Australia following the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is hoped that people traveling to the country on working holiday visas will help fill employment gaps and boost tourism.

Like reported by the Liverpool ECHOemployment opportunities are available in areas such as hospitality, agricultural work and at backcountry resorts.

From May, Qatar Airways will offer 200 discounted return flights to Adelaide from Edinburgh, Manchester, Heathrow and Dublin.

The initiative is similar to the mass migration program that was introduced in 1945, called the “ten pound poms”.

South Australian Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison said: “South Australia welcomes the return of working holidaymakers – it’s a real win-win for young people keen to travel and work overseas. , and for our local tourism industry.

“Our tour operators have missed having international visitors on their tours and experiences and booking accommodation, and they have also missed the backpacker workforce and the vibrancy they bring.

“These backpackers nurture a love for our state and country that often inspires them to return later in life.”

She continued: “Whether at our bars, restaurants, wineries and hotels, or at our outback resorts and farms, there are many ways for British and Irish citizens to work in Adelaide and the region of South Australia, not only helping to fulfill roles but providing an economic and cultural exchange advantage that benefits both sides of the globe.”
