As you enter the Geodome, officially named the state’s ‘Coolest Airbnb’ by Condé Nast Traveler, everything is symmetrical and the organic forms are forgotten.
Located in Léandre, The “Black Beauty” is located on a hill for a scenic 360 degree view of the lake and treetops. The media company named the house earlier this month as one of America’s most inspired rentals, along with 51 other choices.
While the exterior was built in the 1970s, the interior of the home was remodeled in 2020 and updated with shiny new amenities. This three-story rental sleeps up to 14 people with four full bedrooms, a private sleeping area and three sofa beds, three full bathrooms, and a full observation deck from which to roam the kingdom.
The open concept living room and kitchen will welcome you downstairs, separated by a huge contrasting fireplace for the colder winter months. The living room is cozy with a 55 inch smart TV and so close to the kitchen you won’t even have to interrupt Netflix for a drink. With huge picture windows, natural light bathes the room during the day.
Sliding doors will lead you to the tree-top patio, nestling you in the greenery with the wraparound patio. Stairs at the end of the bridge lead you to the garage, for easy access.
Back inside and downstairs, the fun begins with a private underground bar with a private lounge and a pop art gallery with something for everyone to browse. Games and blackout curtains await you in the living room, perfect for a movie or game night.
Upstairs, you will find the master bedroom with a walk-in shower and an Instagram-worthy bathtub to complete your relaxing stay. The richly contrasting luminaires in black and pearl white give the bathrooms an enhanced appearance.
Another spiral staircase will lead you to the observation deck and library, with cinematic views of the sprawling Hill Country. With a reading nook at the top, the observation deck is a cozy place to get away from it all for a good book.
Keep an eye out for special Easter eggs hidden throughout the house, the hosts promise to put a smile on your face.
