Chocolate Easter eggs are truly a treat. But when the chocolate is thick or has been cooled to perfection, breaking the sugary shell into manageable pieces can sometimes be less straightforward.
So Gogglebox’s Pete Sandiford left his sister Sophie in stitches when he showed how to open an Easter egg – in a rather drastic way. On Friday’s (April 15) edition of the Channel 4 show, the Blackpool pair were shown sitting in front of the TV with two tempting eggs wrapped in gold foil.
Pete said to Sophie, “Did you know the way to open an Easter egg is to crack it on your head?”
To which Sophie replied: “It doesn’t hurt anyway?”
“You just hit the pointy end of your head,” Pete said, adding, “Look at that.”
He then hit his egg hard on his forehead, causing him to wince and collapse into a laugh – as the egg didn’t appear to have broken at all. Sophie also cried with laughter and said, “I think I fractured my skull just looking at you.”
Viewers at home also found Pete’s efforts amusing judging by the comments on Twitter. “Did he just do what I think he did… with a chocolate Easter egg,” AkqyaB told @AkqyaAmore.
Naughty dog @animalmad08 tweeted, “Wish you could hire Pete and Sophie to watch TV with you.”
Mitchell WEBB @MitchellWebb85 said: “Pete Sandiford has to be the most clumsy person ever!”
And the official Gogglebox Twitter account even warned right after: “Don’t try this at home!”
