Guests dare to stay in a ‘haunted’ Airbnb that was once a former chapel and mental asylum
In a country as old as Britain, there are many places that claim to be ‘haunted’ because they were built on ruins centuries ago, during the time of the Romans.
But sometimes these buildings have a real story behind them.
It is this scary story that creates rumors of ghosts and hauntings.
This is certainly the case when it comes to the Church of Leicester.
This place was once an old chapel that was part of a mental asylum, which is probably why it attracts so many horror fans.
At present, the old 3,000 square foot chapel acts as a huge Airbnb with two bedrooms that can accommodate four people in total.
The origins of the church date back to 1837.
And thanks to this rich history, visitors sometimes feel like going on a ghost hunt.
The house still looks like a chapel from the outside, with a familiar red exterior and stained glass windows.
But inside are great rooms with all the amenities to help you enjoy your stay. It even has a home cinema room and a pool table.
The Airbnb has a large kitchen and even includes a home theater room and pool table, making it the perfect place for a trip with friends.
This place has received wonderful reviews with almost everyone giving it a 5 star rating.
According to reviews, host Laiten even left a bottle of Prosseco in the rooms as a welcome gift.
One reviewer said: “We were expecting a great place from the photos, but it was even better in real life!
Another gushed: “Really enjoyed our stay here! The whole house / chapel was incredibly amazing, we just couldn’t get over the fact that we were staying in such a beautiful place.”
One reviewer was a little skeptical of seeing a boring exterior, but quickly changed her mind when she entered.
She said: “A slight trepidation on arrival as the exterior of the building makes it less attractive BUT WELL WORTH THE STAY !!!
“When you arrive at the front door, all your worries disappear and you see the apartment in all its glory!
“So much space and very modern, the bed is so comfortable! I really appreciate the little extra details such as the welcome drink and the quick, helpful responses.”
